The problem of hunger in our community is far greater than most people realize. We gather and, in cooperation with our more than 190 partner agencies and programs, distribute more than 88,000 meals weekly in Sarasota and DeSoto counties.
The majority of those we help to feed are hard-working families who simply cannot make ends meet. They are parents in minimum-wage jobs, the elderly on fixed incomes, and children who not only face the prospect of going to school on an empty stomach, but of going to bed on one, too.
Now, more than ever, your help is needed.
Even as we fight it, the problem of hunger grows. Despite our best efforts, more people will need our help this year than last. That means we need your help more than ever before.
