Hunger hurts our most vulnerable: children, seniors and veterans.

According to the United Way’s most recent local ALICE study, in 2022, 46 percent of households in Florida were below the threshold and could not afford basic needs – like groceries, housing, childcare, health care and transportation.

ALICE refers to our neighbors who are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. The ALICE population represents those among us who are working, yet due to rising costs of living, are still living paycheck-to-paycheck.
