Hunger Action Month

As part of a nationwide initiative created by Feeding America, Hunger Action Month takes place throughout September and is designed to raise awareness about the issue of hunger in America.  Food insecurity can impact anyone regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, ability, geography, national origin or any other distinguishing characteristic or trait.

The impact of a meal goes well beyond feeding our bodies―food can open endless possibilities for people to thrive. When people are fed, futures are nourished. Hunger Action Month is your opportunity to be a part of a month-long movement that has a real and lasting impact on our mission of ending hunger in Sarasota and DeSoto counties.

Sharing, volunteering, fundraising, and donating are just a few ways you can take action.

P.S. Wear orange on September 15th for Hunger Action Day!
