Hunger Action Month

As part of a nationwide initiative created by Feeding America, Hunger Action Month takes place throughout September and is designed to raise awareness about the issue of hunger in America. Hunger Action Month is your opportunity to be a part of a month-long movement that has a real and lasting impact on our mission of ending hunger in Sarasota and DeSoto counties.

Sharing, volunteering, fundraising, and donating are just a few ways you can take action.

P.S. Wear orange on September 17 for Hunger Action Day!

Impossible Choices

For millions of people in America, a daily meal isn’t a choice between different dishes. It’s a choice between food and other crucial needs—like medicine, electricity, or childcare.

  • As the U.S. begins to reopen after a tumultuous year, the hunger crisis is far from over. With millions of people facing unemployment, the need for food has only intensified, and families struggle to pay bills for other life necessities—such as housing, childcare, and medical care.
  • Forced to choose between food and other crucial needs, tens of millions of people in America are paying to live life by sacrificing food.
  • The Feeding America network inc will continue to support our neighbors devastated by the pandemic, especially communities that are disproportionately impacted by hunger.

Take action

Support those who face the impossible choices of hunger every day.
